Global Compact Nepal, the UNGC Local Network Nepal hosted a joint global plenary, the South Asia Regional Session, with UNGC Local Networks Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka at the Annual UNGC Leaders Summit, which was virtual in 2021 due to the Coronavirus COVID-19 global pandemic.
Towards Economic Prosperity: Perspectives from South Asia

Host a multi-panel discussion on how South Asian countries can work towards the revival of their economy in a post-pandemic climate.
Provide key insights into business navigation during and post-pandemic times.
Share perspectives on the expansion of supply chains and improvements in child rights and consumer rights, to bring forth economic prosperity in South Asia.
This session will be co-hosted by Global Compact Local Networks Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bangladesh. It will invite industry leaders from host countries to discuss issues on decent work and labour laws and how economies based in South Asia can recover from the drastic repercussions of the pandemic on gainful employment, and how convening to discuss these issues will encourage fruitful collaborations between multi-sectoral players that work towards ensuring a prosperous economy moving forward.
This session welcomes participants globally and regionally, including industry leaders, civil society organizations, development partners, and policy-makers.
